Seeking contact with anyone who has any knowledge of Francis Poyer/Poyar, daughter of A.L. Bingaman of Natchez, Ms. The information I have is sketchy. I believe her to be the half-sister of my ggggrandmother, Amelia Bingaman. She died in Brooklyn, NY in May of 1875.

are you still looking for Francis? Its Francis Pryor. She married J. B Pryor in Natchez. JB was horse trainer for Adam Bingaman (Francis father). She was born about 1826 in Natchez and died in 1875 in Monmouth NJ. They left Mississippi and went to England where JB trained horses. They returned to the States in 1871 and stayed in NJ. Francis sister Cordelia lived with them. I just received their death certificates and it states their mother was Amelia. No last name.

Hi,
I believe Frances Pryor to be Amelia's full sister based upon Deb Mullen's work obtaining both Frances' and her sister, Cordelia's, New Jersey death certificates. Which dovetails nicely with the other information in the censuses- like Amelia named a child Cordelia. Frances Bingaman and Cordelia and Frances' "husband" and children left Mississippi in June of 1861. They were on the England Census in 1861 and 1871. I have found an article about a horse race that he was involved in England (horse name was Pryor and Prioress) in July 1861.

My husband is descendent of John B. Pryor and Frances through their son Luke.

Have you ever obtained the death certificate for Amelia Bingaman who died in New Orleans. How do you know that her mother's name was also Amelia?? Do you have any other information on Amelia and her "husband" Bernard.
