My dad is Roy Sydney Poxon, his Mum and Dad were Sydney and Ethel Poxon, and they lived in Darlaston, West Midlands. My dad was their only child. I have never known much of our family. I am the eldest of five Poxons and we are scattered across Canada. Anyone connected to this branch? Lynda

When did your father emigrate to Canada?
There is another Poxon family in Carbon, Alberta - they also originate from Staffordshire - although I've not yet found a link to your branch of the Poxons.
I think your branch of the Poxons can be traced back to a William Poxon and Hannah Hind who married on 7 Aug 1748 in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire.
You have two relatively famous Poxons in your tree: - Maria Start Poxon b abt 1862 Castle Donington, Leicestershire, is the mother of Colonel Sir George Albert Wade, who for many years was the Chairman of the Wade Pottery Group - famous for miniature "Wade Whimsies" - George Wade Poxon b 1887 Castle Donington, cousin of Colonel Sir George Albert Wade, emigrated to the USA and established the Poxon Pottery in Vernon, California; this eventually became the company producing Vernonware pottery which is collected today.
I can provide lots of information about the Poxon families of England.

Re: Another Poxon reference
Hi Lynda Glad I could help. If you let me have your e-mail address I can send you more details. If I'm right Judith and Philip were born in Canada? Where do you live in Canada? Canada is my favourite country - we travelled from Quebec City to Niagara, via Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto in 2000 - we had a great time. My e-mail address is mkii.px@gmail.com. Regards Mark Poxon

Re: Another Poxon reference
Hi Lynda, My name is Serenah. I was born in Huntsville Ontario on 8/19/75. My Mother was unwed at the time and I know that my biological fathers last name is Poxon. My Mother was born in 1957 so I would think that my father was born around that time or earlier. I am told that my fathers name is Noel Poxon. But for some reason I don't think Noel is his first name, maybe a middle name. I am now living in Texas and have such a hole in my heart for a family that I cannot find. I have children and a strong medical back ground. I need to find out my father's medical background. I am not sure if he is in relations to you or if you know of any way to locate someone in Canada but the name can't be that common. Please contact me if you have any information. Alwaysserenah@yahoo.comThank you so much! Serenah

Re: Another Poxon reference
Lynda,
I have been speaking to your sister Judith but she just stopped replying to my emails and has left me full of questions. I was told that you would be contacting me but I still have no answers. I was born in Huntsville, Ontario on 8/19/75, my mother is Julia (Burk) and my father is Noel Poxon. I have no contact with my birth father and have only met him one time. I have been looking for him all my adult life and need your help!! Please can you help me. I am not looking for money or support, I am an adult with three amazing daughters. I just want to know him, know my background, know the important medical history so I may be able to share it with my children.. My Mom was born 5/21/57 and I believe she was younger than Noel. I also don't believe that he goes by his middle name but I can be wrong on that. I had an old picture of his mother with her sister from England, the sister had short, straight hair and his mother had shorter curly hair and for some reason she reminded me of Dr Ruth.. haha!! Noel in the picture that I had, had a german shepherd in it and his hair was dark but it kinda had a reddish tint to it (but it could have been the sunlight)... I am begging of you for a response.. Please help me determine if your brother is the man I have been searching for.
Thank you! Serenah

Re: Another Poxon reference
I found him today, with Mark's help of information. I have spoken with both Stephen and Christy now. Waiting to hear back from Leigh (Noel). I did find out that I was right, he is my father. I have also been told many times today that I look like you Lynda. Is there any way that I can contact you? I have added you as a friend on Facebook.
