Re: Long lost Powderly cousin
I sent some info by email but it bounced back. I have found more info since my earlier posting. Lillian Linnen, daughter of Michael Linnen and Kathryn Reilly) married Rollin Powderly. I found out yesterday that he is probably the son of Terrence V.Powderly, Jr and the grandson of Terrence V. Powderly who was the mayor of Scranton, PA at one time. There is a book in the Carbondale Library with a great deal of info on the Powderly family. I have information on his burial location in St. Rose's cemetery in Carbondale as well.

Re: Long lost Powderly cousin
Terrence V. Powderly was my great, great uncle. My grandmother, Ruth Powderly, was President Harding's nurse & was with him when he died.
Thanks for the helpful info on the Carbondale Library.

MY GR.GR.GR. GRANDMOTHER WAS ELIZABETH POWDERLY. SHE WAS TERRENCE V.'S OLDER SISTER. SHE MARRIED WILLIAM W. WALKER. HER PARENTS WERE TERRENCE POWDERLY AND MARGERY WALSH.
WILLIAM W.'S SON, WILLIAM J. WALKER, HAD A DAUGHTER, MAUDE ELIZABETH AND SHE WAS MY GR. GRANDMOTHER I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO KNOW AND REMEMBER.
SOMEHOW ALL THESE PEOPLE ENDED UP IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA SO I HAVE GR. GR. GRAND FATHERS WHO FOUGHT ON THE UNION AND CONFEDERATE SIDES. Y'ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY, JULIE CASTLEBERRY

Word for the wise - it is not good for you to post your address on the web. There are search worms out there that can get you onto all kinds of Spam mail.
Start off by giving us your personal email address. Then after you make contact with someone - then you can privately give out your address.
There are allot of Powderly researchers on Ancestry.com - The site allows you to check out other researchers for free on your first visit to the site. Try looking there also.
