Could you check your family tree and see if the following looks familiar?

John Powderly (b. 1805) in Ireland married Marcella.(IRE)
(She died before 1850 Census)
Children:
1) John JR (naturilized) b. 1828;
2) Maragaret b. 1831 IRE; Died 1915 in OHIO Husband Thomas Harris married March 7th 1851 -Kings Co. NY
3) Marcella b. 1834 in IRE.
4)Thomas b. 1837 in NY
5) Ellen b. 1838 in NY
6) Hugh b. 1841 in NY
7) Catherine b. 1846 in NY

Let me know if this looks familiar.

Hi Darcy,

Your Powderly info definitely looks familier. My children descend from Margaret Powderly who md Thomas Harris, they migrated to Dayton, Montgomery Co. OH betw. 1852-1856.

Which Powderly's eventually settled in Wisconsin?

I am not sure if I responded to you - using my private email account.
Today, I was introducing to my mother this website - rootsweb.com and all it's great features!!) I typed in the name Powderly and my mother screamed I KNOW this lady!!!.
It turns out you sent my mother (Debby Freeman) Family Group Sheets.
I am letting you know - since you wrote to her last - she has been to Meath (and the cemeterys) Ireland.

My Mother would like to know if you have the following dates:

Death Notices in the NEW YORK HERALD, NYC (GR 9293747 M21 ) Complied by James P. Maker.

1) John Powderly 3/15/1845 Death
Marrage Notice:
Powderly, Margaret, & Harris, Thomas Death: 3/7/1851

Newspaper is at Lib. of Congress & NY Historical Section.

In Loving Memrory of Bridget Powderly Mullaghmore Rathkenny died April 19th 1941. Also her sons Michael died 11th June 1949. Patrick died Nov 29th 1961. Also her husband John died Sept 7th 1920.

This stone was erected by Patt Powderly of Brienstown least of Ardbraccan in memory of his beloved wife Mary Powderly who departed this life March 13th 1838 aged 66 years.

Do you have any record of Wiilam Powderly married Ann Marie crinion at Oristown on September 1890 (my grandparents William was born about 1853 (I can.t find any record of his birth William parents was Thomas Powderly and Rose Kearney

I don't have much info. on the Powderly's....
And sorry your info. does'nt match. - I will keep you posted tho. ...I have a group of Powderly researchers who I keep in contact with since this name is hard to research. I will check your email against their email's and see if I can find a match.
I will tell you this...my powderly landed in NY the settled in Wisconsin.
