Anyone also researching Povall? Saw the death record for Carrie Povall. If she is the Carrie Rowe Povall who travelled with children Gerald, Muriel and Brenda to NYC in 1919 then maybe her husband was a great-great uncle from the Wirral in Cheshire.
Earliest Povall record in Cheshire is the Will of Randle Povall from 1593. My Povall ancestors were based on the Wirral in Cheshire from 1797 onwards.

Do you have any info on Rachael Povall that married Dr. Henry Clay M.D. of VA and moved to KY? Two of their sons fought in the Revolutionary War.

Giles Carter m to Mary Povall in Robert's will
Rachel Povall was a daughter of Richard Povall of Cumberland County. Richard received land in Goochland County about 1744 which became Cumberland about 1747/8 from his father John Povall of Henrico County. John' s father was Robert Povall of Henrico County who died and his will was recorded 16 Sept 1728..
The marriage bond of Rachel to Henry Clay on 6 of April 1753 states Henry was a son of Henry Clay. This is Cumberland County marriage records..

Povall Woodson Clay
Do you have the reference that John Povall (who married Woodson) left land to Richard? So far, I've been unable to document a relationship between the two.
Thanks.

My great grandmother is Carrie Rowe Povall - whom I am named after. My mother Suzanne is Muriel's daughter. It would be very interesting to see how family line branches. So are you related to Carrie's husbad?
