Searching for information on Johan Posch, born
c. 1811 in Zuzemberk, Krain (Germany/Austria).
Physician. Had two known sons: Rudolph and
John. Had at least one daughter (name unknown)
who produced "Pa's nephew who came to visit"
with the surname VON LUTNER. Need the name
of Johan's wife and other possible children.

Son John, my great-grandfather, was born on
June 14, 1859 in Zuzemberk. He married "an
Italian" by the name of Mary (nee ????).
Could have been at the time of border
changes and she could have been Austrian,
German, Slovenian, or Italian. We don't know.
They came to America, to Cleveland, Ohio
where he was a tavern keeper. They had four
children: Mary Posch Makovec, John, Edward,
and baby Angela, who died at 4 months (?).
Have information on all of them.
Actually, I knew all of them except the baby....

John then married Anna Cesar, my great-grandmother,
born November 1, 1871 in Trebnje, Yugoslavia,
and died September 8, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio.
She had 6 children, one of whom was my grandmother.
I've got information on all of them, too, because
I knew them all. But we know absolutely nothing
about Anna Cesar: parents, siblings, cousins, etc.
Can you help? Will share.
Thanks.

My Posch family - Georg (spelling?) Posch settled in St. Louis Late 19th century.
Daughter was Flora...May have been 2 daughters - No sons identified. He was a
fresco artist descendant from Tyrolean artists and woodcarvers. Owned a fresco art studio in
St. Louis at the turn of the century.
Daughter (Flora) was artist of local repute. What little I have has Flora born in Berlin, Germany. She was my grandmother, but
divorced from my grandfather early (1st decade of the
20th century). Separation and death have made local information as difficult as any
other.
