Looking for descendants nad other relatives of Ferdinand Porath, born in Prussia, immigrated to Ohio. Supposedly had a sister who went to WI. He was in the Prussian army but fled after one of the many wars, came to US about 1873 (plus or minus2 years). Thanks for any help. Gayle

Alex Porath's g.g.grandfather, Ferdinand
J. H. Porath was 35 yrs. of age
in 1885. We think he and his wife
Wilhelmina and son Julius came
over from Prussia, but he may have
landed in the U.S. before coming
to Canada. We haven't found that
information yet.

I am looking for my husbands grandmother`s family, her family name is Porath.
They lived in Ottawa county Ohio. She married in 1890-1893? I belive her father was Ferinand from Prussia.
In the Ohio census her name was listed as Minna. But her real name was Emma. She was born in 1872.

My great grandfather was August, married to Ernestine Manske in 1883. August's mother was Friederika (Wittum or Wittman) born 1826 in Prussia. DO you know if Ferdinand was her husband?
