A bit more detail is needed to make any connections. You don't say how old Ida was when she died. There are many Ida Powells and Ida Poquettes in various census years.

I find an Ida W. Powell and husband Edward in 1930 in Philadelphia. He is 80 yrs old and she is 66. He emigrated from France in 1862 and owns a textile mill (property worth $45,000). She was born in PA, as were her parents. With them is a widowed daughter, Edna P. Frederick and granddaughter Janet Frederick.

Sharyn

Hello Brian,

The direct link to Jacques Paquet and his father Jacques Charles Pauquet I believe is an error. I have found two Birth Places for Moses Pauquette, which would be my great, great grandfather, b: 1825 either in Green Bay, WI, USA or Eau Claire, WI, USA. I had gone on the Green Bay hunch which led me to Jacques Paquet.

In more research I believe that Moses was born in Eau Claire, WI, USA. This would take him the Joseph Pauquette the half brother of Pierre Pauquette, the Winnebago half breed who was a famous historical interpreter for the USA government.

I would be happy to share any and all information I have as I continue to unravel & correct the relationships and correct ancestors.

By the way Joseph Pauquette's parents were Jean B. Pauquette and Hoamenahou, an American Indian who I believe was born in Penobscot, Maine, USA. But it is with Joseph that is where the French Pauquette comes into the family line. I will contact you again soon with more details as to how we may be related. My e-mail address is drawfast@kc.rr.com and my name is Greg McGraw. It would be a pleasure to hear from you.

Sincerely,

Greg McGraw
