I am trying to locate a cousin of mine named Enid Poquette (maiden). I have no idea who she married but I think he was a pilot and they lived in Denver. She was born in the late 1920's in Portland, Washington. Her parents were Faye and Tommy Poquette. Faye (Cheney) her mother was my Mother's sister. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ginny

Enid was born in Portland, Oregon not Washington. Sorry.

This is totally off topic, but I think Addie Beatrice Poquette is related to Enid.

Hi Ginny,

I am the wife (Leah) of Enid's son Dennis. Enid was married to LaMoyne Mark Howard and lived in Denver and moved to Grand Junction, Colorado. They have 3 children Michael, Enid Lorrette, and Dennis. Enid passed away a few years back (06 or 07 Brain drain) and Mark is still living.

We just started on this endeavor and are having a very hard time finding any facts about Enid's side of the family. This is very exciting for him because we were literally stuck with only her name, Enid Poquette and knew she was remarried to a Cucilich(sp). We also know that Enid had a brother named Clayton(he might have been in the Merchant Marines, but disappeared off the face of the Earth in the mid 50's). We know that one of Faye's husbands owned a Cinnabar mine in the Oregon desert area and that one of her husbands owned a restaurant in the Portland area and one of his best friends was Georgous George (a famous wrestler).

Keep in touch and I will try and manage my site to open my threads up so you can view. I'm still learning so if you have any clues or advice I'm always willing to listen and learn. BTW-We live in Denver, Colorado and have 2 children, Emily and Mark.
Thanks again
Leah

Recently I was at a Goodwill Store in Grand Junction Colorado (I live here) and I was looking at a purse. I opened it up and a sheet of paper fell out. It's in German but it looks like a marriage certificate. It has two names on it: LeMoyne Mark Howard and Enid Vivian Poquette. It has dates of birth, place of birth and one date on the bottom of October 22, 1954. I really want to get this back to it's rightful owners. Any help will be appreciated.

Well, I feel like an idiot! I just read your message! Thank you for your informative message. I was hoping that Enid was still alive..she is a half cousin of mine but I never met her. Don't think I ever met her Mother either. Is there something I can help you with? I don't know a whole lot but I know some and my Mom who is 97 still has her wits. So sorry I didn't check back with the message board. Sometimes I forget where I post things. So sorry!

What an incredible find! I am a cousin of Enids. My Mom and her Mom were sisters. May I ask who claimed it? Dennis' wife? Just curious. It's hard to find out much information about Enid's family. I am hoping to find some information for my Mom before she passes from this earth. She's 97. Any help would be appreciated.

I was actually able to find Mr.Howard in Grand Junction. I called him and he was surprised that I had that marriage certificate. He had no idea how it ended up in a purse at Goodwill. I returned the marriage certificate to him that very day.
