I didn't want to post this but it needs to be said. Long time Popejoy family researcher and my good friend Patsy (Popejoy) Andraschko died last year, August 24th, 2011. She was my first contact after I posted my first 'family file' at Rootsweb. We exchanged hundreds of emails over the years with her sharing all of her hard work done long before the internet existed. Vicki, I appreciate your tribute. I am researching today because of people like Patsy. I do have questions about the descendants of John Shacklett and Sarah Popejoy if you have time to respond. My 2nd great grandfather was John C Shacklett b 1806 Fauquier, VA. Thank you Jim Holt

Jim, I looked at Patsy's file, that I still use, and unfortunately found only this entry about John Shacklett and Sarah Popejoy.
Patsy Popejoy Andraschko information: SARAH Popejoy Parents: William Popejoy Jr. – Nancy Mathis Born: Abt. 1790 Married: September 24, 1810 Fauquier Co., Virginia Spouse: JOHN SHACKLETT Children: Per Census below
This MIGHT be Sarah Popejoy Shacklett; her mother Nancy Mathis Popejoy (widowed) was also living in Fauquier Co., Virginia in 1820. 1820 Fauquier Co., Virginia Sarah Schacklett – head of household 1 Male 10-16 3 Female 0-10 2 Female 10-16 1 Female 16-26 1 Female 26-45 (Sarah)
Note: For possible future needs. Sarah Popejoy’s marriage record indicates Israel Glascock cosigned her bond. In 1820, Nancy Mathis Popejoy is living between Peter and Joseph Glascock. I am guessing possibly one of Nancy’s sisters (Alice, Elizabeth, or Ann) might have married a Glascock. This is purely an assumption.

Thank you very much for a quick response. It looks like the information I received from you shows that my hypothesis is wrong about John Shacklett and Sarah Popejoy being the parents of my 2nd great Grandfather John C-1806 since John and Sarah married on July 24, 1810. Below are some additional census I have looked at in relationship to Sarah Popejoy:
Name: Nanny Popejoy Home in 1810 (City, County, State):Fauquier, Virginia Free White Persons - Females - 16 thru 25:1 Free White Persons - Females - 45 and over :1 Number of Household Members Over 25:1 Number of Household Members:2
Name: Nancy Popejoy Home in 1820 (City, County, State):Paris, Fauquier, Virginia Enumeration Date:August 7, 1820 Free White Persons - Females - 26 thru 44:2 Free White Persons - Over 25:2 Total Free White Persons:2 Total All Persons - White, Slaves, Colored, Other:2
Name:Sarah Shackleter Home in 1820 (City, County, State):Fauquier, Virginia Enumeration Date:August 7, 1820 Free White Persons - Males - 10 thru 15:1 Free White Persons - Females - Under 10:3 Free White Persons - Females - 10 thru 15:2 Free White Persons - Females - 16 thru 25:1 Free White Persons - Females - 26 thru 44:1 Number of Persons - Engaged in Commerce:3 Free White Persons - Under 16:6 Free White Persons - Over 25:1 Total Free White Persons:8
Name:Sarah Shacklett Home in 1830 (City, County, State):Fauquier, Virginia Free White Persons - Males - Under 5:2 Free White Persons - Males - 20 thru 29:2 Free White Persons - Females - 10 thru 14:2 Free White Persons - Females - 15 thru 19:3 Free White Persons - Females - 20 thru 29:1 Free White Persons - Females - 40 thru 49:1
The Censuses of 1840 and 1850 made me think that she was mother to Hezekiah D_1807 who has a older Sarah with him:
Name:Hezekiah D Shacklett Home in 1840 (City, County, State):Perry, Licking, Ohio Free White Persons - Males - 30 thru 39:1 Free White Persons - Females - Under 5:2 Free White Persons - Females - 5 thru 9:2 Free White Persons - Females - 20 thru 29:1 Free White Persons - Females - 50 thru 59:1 Persons Employed in Manufacture and Trade:1 Free White Persons - Under 20:4 Free White Persons - 20 thru 49:2 Total Free White Persons:7 Total All Persons - Free White, Free Colored, Slaves:7
Below is the 1850 Census of Elizabethtown,Licking, OH Mary Ann is Mary Ann Glascock, Born 28 Feb 1815 Her parents were Jesse Glascock 1782-1825 and Nancy Green 1725 - 1850
Household Members: Hezekiah D Shacklet 43 Mary Ann Shacklet 35 Delila Shacklet 15 Sarah Ann Shacklet 14 Agnes Shacklet 12 Ophelia Shacklet 11 Jesse Shacklet 9 George Shacklet 7 Wade Shacklet 3 Mary E Shacklet 1 Sarah Shacklet 64
I have Sarah Popejoy Shacklett born 1786 Virginia died after 1850. If John Shacklett and Sarah Popejoy did not marry until 1810, I do not believe she could be the mother of Hezekiah D_1807 and John C_1806. John_1784 could be the father if he had a 1st wife and Sarah were his 2nd wife. It just does not seem logical. In this little town of Perryton, OH, there are four Shackletts and 2 Greens living side by side. Thanks for listening. Again, thank you for your response. Jim Holt

There was no date to Patsy's old post nor a link so the copy here serves no purpose. I *know* she did very little work on any this in the last 5 years.
I only have her one out-of-date MS-Doc file and doubt anyone has all of her other paper (majority) or electronic records. She never used a genealogy software of any kind. Her husband and sons nor her sister or step-sister were ever involved. Her work might be boxed up waiting for a request but I doubt it. Like many other boxes of gen data, it is trash to others and gets thrown away at some point.

I was concerned that her email address was still active. My mother-in-law died in 2010. I received 14 file drawers and two cabinets of photos of Billups, Ganstrom, Farnham and Payne. The days of "real" genealogist has changed. My thanks to those who have gone before and left us with trustworthy data. Jim Holt

It is very possible that several of her many different email addresses are still active but what does that matter. No one is checking them nor could they ever answer even one question if they did.
I would bet the farm that ALL of her over 25 years of records are gone. No one could wade through her paper data without her personal instructions (I have seen the room full of paper). Her sons might have made back-up copies of her electronic files but again, they would confuse anyone without her to answer your questions. I have over 500 emails of gen data from her and most prompted many back and forth messages to understand what she meant.
