I am researching my history and I know of a Thomas Pook who was born in Somerset in the early 1800's. His father may have been Robert Pook and his mother Unice. His cousin was a preacher named Oliver Horsey. He moved to Twillingate, Newfoundland, Canada in 1829. Any info. please write to me! Thanks!

Hi,

My Great Great Grandparents were Charles and Caroline Pook from Ninfield/ Wartling. Is there any connection with your Pooks?

Best wishes

Brigitte

Now I'm a Wilson but I was Stefanie Pook. I don't have any information on Oliver Horsey, save some scribbles in my great-uncle's hand (from about 30 years ago). All the note said was: Oliver Horsey - clergy - cousin. Sorry.

I am related to John and Eunice (Denman) Pook. They were apparently active in the independent church of S. Petherton. If you go to this website, someone has transcribed a bunch of records: http://www.southpethertoninformation.org.uk/roundwell_.htm

There are a lot of Denmans and Horseys there. I did not find an Oliver, but I can't help but think these are related to you somehow.

There was another couple Robert and Annis (Denman) Pook, who I'm thinking might have been related to John and Eunice. Still searching.
