The only pooks at Beckenham i have on my darabase are: Thomas Pook born 1849 at Cadbury and Mary ? born 1857 at Neacroft in Hampshire (near Christchurch). Thomas was a house steward and they were living at Beckenham in the 1901 census. I do not know the date or place of their marriage but the census showed they had 2 sons and 1 daughter, Maud born c1881, Percy born c1885 and Ernest born c1888 all at Stepney. If you can add anything to this info I would appreciate you letting me know.

I know this post is from 2007 and you may not see this, but I'll write anyway!
Maud Pook (b. 1881) was my greatgrandmother. She immigrated to the USA in 1913, to marry a fellow British immigrant. Thomas Pook (born in Cadbury) is her father, but his wife Mary was her stepmother. Thomas' first wife (Emma Judith Brewster, b. 1850 in Ely) died in 1890. Thomas and Emma had 8 children: Maud, Florence Jane, Emma Louise (died as a child), Percy, Ernest, Frank, Thomas, and George.

Thomas and Mary had no children of their own.

My family have kept in touch with the descendants of 2 of the other Pook children listed above--they are still in the U.K.

I can provide information on Thomas Pook's siblings and parents, but the line gets muddled for me after that. There are so many Pooks with similar names and birthdates in that part of Devon. I would like to work on the Pook family for my tree.
