I am curious to find out what happened to the rest of the Poocks! To the best of my knowledge there aren't many of us left in the UK, just myself, my parents, my brother and my paternal grandmother. I know that my father's uncle(s?) emigrated to the US and apparently ended up in Iowa. My dad's name is Anthony Poock. Is there anyone out there who knows what became of them?

Nothing happened to all the Poock's it's just that this surname like most others is subject to spelling variations. The variations can go from Poock to Pooeke to Pooke to Powke to Powcke to Poocke to Puch to Pook and perhaps others I have not consisered.

There are quite a few Poocks here in Iowa. My sister is married to one. He and his parents are in Bremer County, Iowa. The Iowa Bremer Co. census will show you them. I do not know what his grandfathers name was. I will check on that for you.

My Great Great Grandfather was August Poock/Pook/Polk. I have documents that have all three spellings. He settled in Buchanan County, Iowa. Married Barbara Bearbower. If we are related, please contact me.
