COLONIE -- Viola Ashline Pombrio, 91, entered into eternal life Monday, March 13, 2006.
Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., daughter of the late Lee and Eva Gebo Frederick.
Viola was the owner and operator of Ashline's Grocery in Plattsburgh for over 28 years retiring in 1972.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Plattsburgh and the Guilderland Lodge of Elks.
Loving wife of 37 years to Richard Pombrio, and also the late Henry Ashline, who passed away in 1967; beloved mother of Henry Ashline of Feura Bush, Marjorie Dickson of Albany and Allen Helson of Waterford; cherished grandmother of Lee, John, Greg and Glenn Ashline, Cynthia Osmer and Philip, Kevin and Timothy Dickson and Allen Jr. and Leigh Ann Helson. Also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Viola was predeceased by her brother and sister.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, N.Y. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may send a remembrance in Viola's name to the Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
