Hollee, I once read a very interesting article you typed about Matej Pomajzl many years ago who came to America in 1862 I believe from Ouhonice (today Úhonice) west of Prague. My great grandfather was Josef Pomajzl from Malešov, Bohemia east of Prague. He came to America in 1894 and stayed in New York. He had an Uncle Jan Pomajzl also from Malešov who came to America in July of 1876. I have a small web page about the New York Pomajzls at
https://sites.google.com/site/kpomeisl/home/family-tree. I have recently found that the Prague archives are available online and have been able to link the family of Jan Pomajzl to my family (they changed name to Pomas). My grandfather and his brothers changed spelling to Pomeisl and Pomisel for reasons that are not known for certain. The one thing I have never been able to do is determine if the New York Pomajzls are related to what I call the Nebraska Pomajzls. This can only be proved looking at records in Czech archives which are written in Czech, German and Latin and are not always easy to read most likely. I do know the Josef's grandfather and Jan's father was František Pomajzl born in Malešov around 1810. His wife Marie Zoufalá.
I was hoping I could get in touch with some Nebraska Pomajzl family historians in the event they ever come across records mentioning Malesov. I would do the same regarding Matej Pomajzl or any others from Ouhonice who ended up in Nebraska.
If you are interested in trying to connect these families or know anyone who might be please let me know.
Thanks,
Ken Pomeisl
