Hi. I was born in the town of Guayama, Puerto Rico. I have been working in the Pomales Family Tree for over 20 years. Currently, I have about 17,000 names in my genealogy file, most of the from the Pomales side of the family. I am interested in sharing and receiving information on the matter.

Hi.

The original last name was Pomar. The father of Dionicio Pomar (Pomales) was Juan Pomar. Juan Pomar had 5 sons, including Dionicio Pomar and Juan Pomar (my great great great grandfather). All the grandsons of Juan Pomar changed their last name to Pomar. The first Pomar, so far was Sebastian Pomar (tenth generation) from Granada, Spain. If you like more information, please contact me to my new e-mail address rupori@hotmail.com

Sincerely,

Ruben Pomales

This also the same thing that I have heard. That my family went from Spain to the isles and to Puerto Rico from there. My tree should be public if you would like to look at it and see if we have some connection.

Hi!

My great grandfather was Juan Pomar, who came to the Philippines from Ruiloba, Comillas, Santander, Spain. He was part of the commercial operation of Tabacalera de Filipinas which traded in many agricultural comodities like sugar, tobacco and abaca (hemp). Let's share more notes.

Best regards,

Richard Pomar Burgos

My great-grandmother was Amelia Pomales who married Victor Lebron. She died in 1923 when my grandmother was 1 year old. My grandmother died when I was 7 years old. I've hit a brick wall in trying to find info on this family line. My mother, aunts and uncles didn't know their grandmother so there's no one around who can fill in any blanks. Would love to know if you have her listed on your tree. Any response is appreciated.

I have been trying to place my grandmother, Fidela Pomales Bonilla in a Pomales family tree.

She was born around 1890 and died @1928 who married to Olimpio Santiago (born in Coamo). I was told, most likely in error, that she was born in Valencia Spain so I have no information about a birthplace for her in PR.

Do you have her in your records?
