I do not have the exact information. But I do know that the POMALES who came to PUERTO RICO were Spaniards from HUESCA. A POMAR is an apple orchard.

A variant of the surname exists in CUBA as POMAR or POMARES

I would also like to know the origin of my maiden name, Pomales. The only information that I have is that my grandparents Adela (Mendez) and Tomas Pomales were from Moca, Puerto Rico. Does the Pomales name come mainly from Puerto Rico?

I am trying to build up our database for the POMALES from JUNCOS. Apparently the POMALES settled in JUNCOS in the late 1700s and then some of them moved on to GUAYAMA.

We have a POMALES-GOMEZ family in the early 1800s.

Please send me as much info on your family as possible. Every little bit helps!!

This is unexpected! Had never had a POMALES in MOCA!! Please let me know any other info. on your POMALES.

As to their origins, they came from Spain to PR in the early 1700s. We have not been able to trace them back to Spain yet, but we are getting closer!!!

I don't know what type of information you would like but I would also like to get all the information that I could about the Pomales history. My father is Tomas Pomales from Juncos, PR. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of information on his father because he died when my father was still a baby.

In order to be able to connect your father to the rest of the family, I need his full name with both surnames, and/or his parents names. That information can be found in his birth and/or baptismal certificate.

We have SERRANO-POMALES and POMALES-DELGADO families who later moved to Guayama but were originally from Juncos, or at the very least had some children born in Juncos in the early 1800s. We have the descendants who moved to Guayama, but not very much on those who stayed in the JUNCOS/LAS PIEDRAS/SAN LORENZO area.

We have over 3000+ POMALES records in our database. Hopefully we will be able to connect your father to the rest of his family.

Please e-mail me privately at anar@the-cia.net if you have any privacy concerns.
