Poma Family in Trapani, Sicily

Poma Family in Trapani, Sicily

Surnames: Poma
I would be very interested in finding out about ancestors as well as relatives possibly here and in Sicily. My grandfather was Leonardo Poma, from Trapani, and came to the USA on an Italian merchant marine ship prior to WWI. He served in the US Army in WWI. I understand he lived in Detroit for a time, then moved to Saginaw where he lived until he died in 1972. He came from a family of approx. 10 children. I have no idea what their names were or what became of them. I met his sister Concetta Poma Daidone in Trapani in 1974 and never thought to ask questions about the family. His mother's name was Paola. Concetta was in her 70's when I met her and must be deceased by now. I also met one of her daughters, either Rosa or Rosetta, then living in Turin. Concetta also had a son, then living in Venice. I don't remember if there were any other children. Any light someone can shed on any of this would be appreciated. Thanks.

Vincent, thanks for the reply! However, I don't think we are related. There is no Argentina connection in my family. My grandfather was Leonardo Poma from Trapani. He passed away in 1972 at the age of 76. My grandmother was Carmela Mauro from Mazzara del Vallo. She passed away in 2000 at the age of 91. My father's name was Salvatore. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan, USA. So the people you named don't seem to match up wth my family. Thanks for trying and good luck in your own search!
