I am seeking any information on one James Polk who was born about 1799 in I believe White Deer Twp. Union Co, Pennsylvania. According to writings the man was both Deaf and Dumb. According to information I have he may have lived for a time with Jacob & Ann (Pollock) Ziebach, however this cannot be confirmed. What I do know is this man appears in the 1870 Census living in Richland County, Wisconsin. In the 1870 census he is listed as James Polk age 71, born in PA, Deaf and Dumb. He is listed as living with My GGGG grandfather John R. Polk who was also born in PA in 1797. I assume the two are related but I could never figure out how. My ancestor John R. Polk I also believe was born in White Deer Twp. Union Co, Pennsylvania, perhaps the son of William and Margaret Polk.

If anyone has any information on James Polk who was Deaf and dumb please let me know.
