Hi Karen, This is an old posting, but I was going through my files and found the genealogy (descendents) of Frank Politte (wife, Ida LaPlante). Did you ever get that information all straightened out? The persons you had listed as his father (Joseph Israel) and grandfather (Joe?) were incorrect.

My niece and nephew are in this line. Alexis "Lexie" Politte is the son of Alexis Politte (b.1828) and Rosine Degonia (b. 1834). Alexis was the son of Leandre Politte Robert (1792-1859) and Mary Anne Sylvain (1799-1840). Leandre was the son of Hypolite Robert (b. 1752) and Marianne Boyer (1755-1812). There are some interesting stories about Hypolite's origins (http://genforum.genealogy.com/polite/messages/90.html, http://genforum.genealogy.com/robert/messages/262.html) I have many census, cemetery and marriage records to validate the line up to Hypolite Robert, not sure about the other stories.

Hi Janet,

I was wanting to know if you had found anything about Timon Courtois. He is my great-grandfather, and I can't get any further on information for him. I find on several sites that his father may have been Felix Courtois, but the two Felix's I find don't have any reference to him, so if you have found anything that would be great.

The only reference to a Timon Courtois is for Felix Caliste Frederick Courtois, but the site says this Timon was 9 when he died, so I keep hitting a brick wall

Looking for information on Fred Politte and his family. I found an exact match on here, except for the birthdays and children. The one I am looking for would have the children Rosie and Walter. The birthdays are not the same either right names wrong birth dates. Can anyone throw me a life line? Thank-You in advance.

Hi Ruth-
I too have some Politte family history that my brother Francis did several years ago- he might have worked with your brothers in compiling it. Would like to share this infor with you. Francis passed away in 2007 and our sister Theresa also passed away a few months after Francis. Just Phil, Dorothy and I are all that remain from the Melvin and Velma lineage of Polittes however there are lots of kids and grandkids in lineage now. Hello Bill: I am your cousin, Ruth Ann, daughter of Leo and sister to Paul, Milton, Donald and Jim. Paul and Milton are no longer with us. I think they were Catherine's age. I remember Catherine and Ralph. Didn't they live in Rolla?

it is nice to hear from you! The only contact that I have with any of the Politte's is thru Uncle Jack's children...they are my 2nd cousins...but are my age! Uncle Jack was 3 years younger than my dad, and Aunt Theresa was my mom's Maid of honor when she got married...(Milton was one of my dad's groomsmen). Most of them still live in Missouri. My folks both passed away this week in 2002 and 2005. I have lived in Louisiana for almost 35 years...have to kids, Diana who is in grad school in Denver is 25 and Daniel who is in grad school in China. Hello Cousin Leo: I am Leo's Daughter, Ruth Ann. Grandpa's nam is Alexis James (Lexy Grant). My brother names are: Paul Hubert, Milton Leo, Donald Ernest and James Clement. Sadly, Paul and Milton have died. I have a picture of you holding a fish. Before Paul died, he put together a family history of the Polittes back to Hypolite Robert. I have a copy I can send you. Thomas Timon Politte was my GGrandfather's Cousin. Do have any info on his father Augustin or his brothers? One of Augustin's brothers was a Michel or Misho Politte. My GGGrandfather.

If anyone has a census record showing this couple and a list of their children in it could you help me. I only found where they were in Colo in 1930. 1920 or 1910 would be better as there was suppose to be 14 children and I can only get up to 9 and maybe the 10th one. Help please

I found a Fredrick son of Cyfrion born in 1860's. with a sister Fannie. This may be him as I had a great aunt Fannie. If this is him them they got married late in life and my grandmother Julia had children up in her 60's. appreciate your help

But I am having problems finding this family with 14 children. Where are their records?. They had family all over MO and related to most of the state....PLEASE HELP

I am looking for information about Theresa's parents, grandparents, etc.

Here's what I know.

Theresa was my great-grandmother. She was born on May 20, 1865, in Missouri, maybe around Blackwell. Her parents were Robert (Leo) Politte, and Elizabeth. I have no maiden name on Elizabeth. Family oral history says she was Native American. Robert committed suicide around 1901 or 1902.

Theresa's siblings were Bell, Phyllis, Agnux, Gus, Walter, Pete, and Leo.

Theresa married Johm Marion Womack, on Sept 18, 1893. She died on Oct 4, 1959, in Colorado.

Would you happen to have any info on the Politte's that were from the Mine LaMotte, Madison Co., MO area....It seems like there may be a connection between the Polittes of Madison and Washington Co. areas but can't put my finger on it.

I know this sounds like a far shot in the dark, but I am trying to find the parents of John Polete (Politte) who married Mary Ann Bernier in 1865 in Madison Co., MO

There must be a few dozen out there with the John & Mary combination...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I noticed you mentioned that your Politte's seemed to have died at an early age....my grandmother; Elizabeth Politte Dickey was 90 years old when she died....

The parents of the Jean Baptiste Robert dit Politte married to Celeste Auge/Oje/Oshia were Charles Robert and Felicity Duclos. Charles is a brother to your Pierre. There were several Jean/John Polittes as you already know.

Thomas Timon Politte, baptized 18 September 1877 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Richwoods, Mo., was the son of Augustin "Gus" Politte and Agnes Partney. Thomas died on 18 February 1964.

Augustin Politte, born 26 March 1844, baptized 25 April 1844, was the son of Jean Baptiste Robert dit Politte and wife, Celeste Auge (later, Oje - now, Oshia).

My grandmother was Edna, twin sister to Edgar, and sister to Leo and Melvin, and daughter of Lexie and Julia. She passed away on March 21, 1962. My mother was Catherine Kolb. She passed away on Dec. 9, 2005. I would to connect with some of my distant Politte cousins.
