Polacks from Hamburg, Germany
In 1888, Rudolph Polack emigrated from Germany. His father an Isaac Polack died in Hamburg in 1872. His mother was Emilia Glogau. [Isaac Polack's father was also an Isaac Polack listed on the younger Isaac's death certificate as Rab (old) Isaac Polack].
Rudolph's citizenship papers were witnessed by a Julius Glogau (possibly a relative as the last names matches Rudolph's mother's maiden name).
Rudolph's brother Max also emigrated to the US (what year is unknown). Max returned to Germany before WWII with his son Irving and both were eventually sent to the Camps. Irving lived to re-emigrate to America.
Rudolph married Rosa Widder in NYC and had two sons, Julius in 1900 and Joseph (AKA Jerry)in 1907.
If any of these names is familiar or if your Polack family is from hamburg please post a message here.

I don't really know if this is any relation, but I am searching for info on an Elise Johanne Polack who was born in Hanover, Germany. She was married to a Johann Frederich Kuck from Germany, and who ended up in NY, NYC I beleive.

I did not see anyone named Elise in my family records. Do you have any other info regarding her parents? year of birth? Most of the Polack's in this family were from Hamburg or perhaps Paderborn? Is this individual Jewish? If yes, you might want to post a message to the German Special Interest Group within JewishGen.org. Good luck! - Eric

Re: Polacks from Hamburg, Germany
I'm looking for information on Wilhelm Gustave Polack from Strausburg, Brandenberg, Preussen, came to US, was Lutheran minister in Missouri and Kansas about 1850's. Took in & raised a relative, Caroline Hanz, who md HC Senne also a Lutheran minister in Kansas---Wilhelm's wife was Mary Elizabeth Hanz, either an aunt or an older sister for Caroline. I know a lot about this Polack family, but wonder about Mary Eliz. and Caroline Hanz. (longshot)
