I am looking for my Gr Gr grandfather James Pola. He fathered a child her name Mattie Easter. Her mother was Dollie Easter. James and Dollie did not mary. James was born in Italy about 1851. He came to South Carolina possibly between 1872-1876. And died app. 1894. His father was Joseph Pola. He married a margaret Wilkie. Anybody please if you have any further information I would be most greatfull if you would share. I am stuck at this point! Darlene

I don't have any information about your quetion, but I am a "Pola", and I am interested in finding some family.
I currently live in Utah, with my family, and my dad, Robert S. Pola, is looking at putting the geneology together.
Its really fun finding out about the family, and how, where, when and who.
Please contact me if you would like to share any information.

I will ask my dad if he has any information for you.
thanks.

Penney, Oh you have no idea how happy I was to recieve your message! My number one question for you is how is Pola pronouced? Is it Pola is in a Pola bear or is it Pollie? My aunts and uncles says it was Pollie. but I am not so sure about that. Also I believe that My gr gr grandfather's family moved into Utah. Yes I would love to share what little bit of information I have. And would be delighted to recieve even the slightest bit of information. I have noticed that there are not that many Pola's out there. So the more we help one another the better off we will all be.Thanks for any help you might be able to offer. And good luck on your research. By the way are you LDS?

Pola, (as far as I have been told) is pronounced as in Pola - bear. I am LDS, but I do not practice.
My parents have been trying to find out as much as possible about the history but they are not having alot of luck.
There are a few Pola's out here, the sad part is that we really do not communicate with them. I have my brother, Kenneth, and my parents.
My parents are out of town this week, but I am sure that they have some information that you would be interested in. When they get back I will have to send you any info. they may have. Is there another way I could send you the info --- like a fax machine. I do not have the internet at home, (I do this at work) but I can check for messages during the week.
I will check back later, I will see if I can contact my parents, and see if they have any info that you might like to have.

chat later.

Penney, thanks for writing back. Just to give you a little bit of history. James Pola came here from Italy. He married Margaret Wilkie. Margaret and James had one child (as far as I know of) his name was James Pola. And James married a Mattie Sharp. I think Mattie and James had about 6 kids. At sometime Mattie married a alfred Stembridge. I am not sure when the Pola's moved into Utah. Bbut James and Matties children (not sure if all of them) were born there. Now some of this was taken off of the computor. It has not been confirmed. I bet those Pola's there in Utah are your cousins! Please send any additonal information your Dad might be able to provide. And I will do the same. Thanks for any hlep you can give me. Darlene

Penney, I do not mind at all if your dad calls. But I would rather not put my phone number on the message board. Could you give me a direct email address to you? Here is my email cookeelover@hotmail.com Please let your father know I have very minimal information. But am more than happy to share with him what I have. And hopefully he will too. Maybe between the two of us we will get some where on this. Thank you so much for helping me out. Darlene
