Poika and Heiki families where are you??
Hi there..i have just recently found the translations to my g grandfather who was Finnish and was born in Finland.
in Norse it is Andreas Vilhelm Henriksen. IN Finnish it is Antti/Antero Vilhelm Heiki/Henrikin Poika
born in Mandaringet Karunki in 1846.
Any connections with you?

Did he live in Norway? Did he emigrate, and if he did, do you know where from and when?
I doubt that Poika is a surname. It is the same as " son ". Perhaps " Henrikinpoika " is correct.

Yes he immigrated to Norway, to Lofoten Island then to Ankenes Nordland.
THere is a record of him in the Norwegian digital records on the web with my g grandmother and a "pleisdatter" or foster daughter. But still haven't found any records pertaining to him in Finland as of yet.

Re: Poika and Heiki families where are you??
In the 1875 census, there is a Andreas Wilhelm Henriksen living at " Jægtnes " farm in Ofoten. Born in 1846 in Karungi- It says it is in Sweden, but that is wrong. Karungi is way up north in Finland. His wife is Josefine Fredriksdatter, born 1854 in Pajala, Sweden. Their pleiedatter / foster daughter is Anne Kristine Hansdatter.
If you go to the 1900 census and the same farm, there is a Anne Andreasdatter living there. Could she be adopted? She is living with here husbond Ole Johannessen Askheim and a new - born son.
