I have extensive information on the descendants of this couple, all the way up to finding some living descendants.
As far as I know, Peter came from Hesse-Darmstadt, and Elizabeth came from Alsace-Lorraine.
I had always assumed they were married when they came, but I only find a separate immigration for Peter. Recently I found a Pohle family that immigrated in 1852, from Wurtenburg, via LeHavre, France. The names are Conrad Pohle, Barbara P, Franzine P, George P, Eva P, Elizabeth ( listed as 8 yo), Peter and Anna.
These names are so similar to the names of Peter and Elizabeth's children after marriage, that it looks right. They were married around 1855, which make the age of Elizabeth incorrect, as far as is listed on the immigration list. And I cannot find any of these people anyplace after 1852, the immigration date. So I am a bit confused.
It looks right, especially if Elizabeth's age is wrong. Does anyone know these people? Sue Maxwell
