I may be able to answer some questions for you. I have some knowledge of our family history dating back to the 1600's.

Bryan,
I was thrilled to see your reply. I've been searching for information about my grandfather's family for quite some time and have very little to show for it. My grandfather passed away when my mother was only 8 so I don't know all that much about him. His brother Paul retired to Florida but to my knowledge he didn't have any children, just a stepdaughter from his wife's first marriage, and Lena, their sister seemed to diappear without a trace. I would love to share information with you. My email is AnnaM6@aol.com

Bryan,
Are you descended from Richard? I think he was the brother of my great-grandfather, Paul. In the 1890 Philadelphia City directory they are listed as living at the same address, but after that there is no record of him. I've been looking through census forms but I don't get into the city very often these days. It is slow going looking through microfilm, and there are a lot of pages for each ward to look through. I know Richard had a son named James who was born in Washington, DC, but again, I lost track of him after that. I'm not sure where he went next. I hope perhaps you can shed some light on my family tree. Hope to hear from you soon.

Bryan, Hello, I am Anna's cousin. Our Family's ties to Florida, are so coincidental that I feel you may possibly help us in our Quest for information. Do you by any chance have a copy of your family's Coat of Arms? When our Great Uncle Paul moved to Florida ours went with him. However, we do have a description of it. Our Family's Coat of Arms was left in Florida after the death of Paul. Any information you can send Anna and I would be greatly appreciated. Thank You in Advance. Janet

Bryan, I would love to see a copy. I have spoken to my cousin Anna, and we are going to go to The German Historical Society here in Philadelphia to see if we can get a copy of ours. Like I said before, Our original was left in Florida with the Estate of our Great Uncle Paul. I would also love to hear from your Father.

I just wanted to say thank you for helping Jan and I out with the coat of arms. It was a nice surprise to come to the computer this morning and see it.

I also would like to see a copy of the family Coat of Arms. My father Charles F. Poekert (Karl Franz Poekert on his birth certificate - eldest son of Arthur F. Poekert) said upon his father's death that his Uncle Paul took it and he was never able to locate it, thereafter. We had wondered if it was still in existence.

Oh my God, Arthur it is so good to hear from you. I'm yur first cousin. I'm your Uncle Arthur's (Sonny's) daughter. Well Our cousin Anna Marie and I are on a joint Quest. We were able to locate a few other Poekert's in Florida. We feel we are related. We just have to tie all the info together with them. I would really like to chat with you more. Please e-mail me @ Ladyj126@aol.com. The Poekert's in Florida have sent us a copy of their Coat of Arms. We know it is not ours. Aunt Marie has viewed it and it isn't what she had described. I would like to send you a copy.
Hope to hear from you soon, Janet
