Surnames: Poehlman, Pohlman, Pohlmann, Pollman, Polman
In an effort to locate who immigrated with my Catherine Poehlman of 1860 Syracuse, NY, I am extracting all persons named Poehlman, Pohlman, Pohlmann, Pollman, and Polman (or any others who turn up) from the NY censuses of 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900. I am also extracting the same from Syracuse, NY, censuses for 1910 and 1930.

I presently have 169 people in about 31 families. Eight of the families extend across two or more censuses. I have 49 families to go. I'm limiting my search to the Syracuse area after 1900, as there are no indicies to serve as guidelines. I have to read the rolls themselves.

I will be happy to share. I can send JPG shots of the extraction forms. As this is a work in progress, if I don't find your ancester, I'll keep your request on hand until the list is complete.
