He was one of my ancestors. My mother was Louise Longenecker, who was born in Lawrence. So was I, but I never really lived there. Frederick Poehler was her grandfather. My gandmother was Mathilda Smithmeyer, who as also born in Lawrence. They are all buried there. My father's family is Greek, so obviously a really diverse genealogoy chart. we were vry intersted in the Lippe-Detmolt connection. Oddly, I am a huge enthusiast of German genealogy. The family is also descended from the von Busse family - also Busse von Heerse, and/or von Busse-Schoenlau.
