Hello - My Grandmother's mother was Elisabeth Podbielski - born in Julich, Germany in 1902. Her parents were Ignas Podbielski who was born in Thorn, Poland and Martha Podbielski (nee Palezewska) born in Thorn 1871. Ignas' parents were Marianne Podbielska (nee Winiarka) and Alexander Podbielska born and died in Karshover Poland. I'm looking for any connections to this family. Thanks :)

Hi Carolina,
I think your family might be related to mine. My ggrandfather had brothers but unfortunately I do not know their names. I think I have heard name Ignacy (nickname Ignas) somewhere. I have to check where my Alexander was born. He lived in Warsaw and died there. Thorn is a German name of today's Torun. In Polish men's names end ski, so your Ignacy's father was Alexander Podbielski (Podbiel-ska is a women). Maybe your Alexander Podbielski was father of my Alexander. I have to do more research on that. I presume Karshover in Polish is Karczewo which is a small village in the Torun province or Karczewiec near Warsaw. Do you have more information so we could find church records?

Dear Barbara
Thank you for your message. I will pass these details to my grandmother to have a look at and will get back to you with some more information.
This is all very exciting for her - as she is very interested to find out more about her family.
Thanks again
Caroline:)
