Deb, unfortunately, I did not receive your post. I picked it up while reading the Podrasky surname board when answering Dawn. I will find my copy and forward it to you by mail, if you will send me your address through private email. My email is:
jmn@webshoppe.net. Much of what I have has been copied from Latter Day Saint's Library in Utah. As far as I can tell from my records, the name seems to have been changed circa 1788. From this date, this name has been spelled at least ten different spellings. The name Hess, Frysinger, Tanner, Wise, Pence, and Wolfe seem to be closely associated with the names: Poda/Boddie/Podar/Poddy/Bodar and Pody, in records circa 1788-1822. Only one Podraski/Podrasky/Podresta has the name shortened to Poda/Pody that I am aware of. He was a resident of Colorado. I have a Joseph Poda married to Hannah ? in North Carolina. About 1790, he recorded a will stating that he owned a parcel of land in Lyme Regis, England, which he left to his heirs in Carolina. I believe only two heirs were mentioned, and they were a daughter named Hannah Delany, and his wife, Hannah.
