Hello Mary,

Looks like we are related through Frank Bontty, although I have two different places of birth; one says he was born in DeKalb, Illinois on 16 Oct 1858. The 1930 Census in Oregon has his birthplace as Iowa. I don't have much on Frank's parents, John and Anna or any of his siblings.

My records show Frank married Anastasia Podany. They had at least 6 children in Oregon. Their son, Allie (born 1881) married my Grandfather's sister Eva Adeline Vadnais. Another son, Richard (born 1895) married my Grandfather's other sister, Cora Elizabeth Vadnais. I'm still in contact with one of Richard and Cora's children out in Oregon.

Thanks for replying. If I can give you any info from Iowa, please let me know. As for Frank birth place, I believe that Iowa was his birthday. By a bio on Edmund Z. Bontty, they stayed 1 year in Chicage, Then moved to De Kalb County for 4 Years. Then they moved to Iowa finally settling in the Johnson-Linn counties of Iowa. In the 1860 census, Frank is 1, so he had to born in Iowa.
