The Podanys you are looking for sound line they must be related to the ones I am looking for. Only mine went from Bohemia to Texas instead of Pennsylvania. The Texas census for 1900 says that Frank Podany came from Bohemia in 1873. With him were daughters Annie and Mary Dell. On the rootsweb.com Austin County, TX Query Forum I found the following dated June 1999. Franz (Frank) Podany settled at Cat Springs in the late 1800's. He came from Czech with his wife and 2 small daughters, Annie and Mary Dell. He purchased a farm and had sons Albert and Joe. etc. This same person put a message on the General Bohemia Query Foram Aug 1998. The two queries gave me enough info that I knew i had the right families when i found them on the Texas census. We have Annie, Mary, Frank, Joe Helen. Too many similarities to be a coinsidence, I think. I suspect our families tie together in Bohemia. Do you know anything about them back there?

I think you may be on to something. I know nothing about them other than family said he came from Bohemia. He died in Erie, PA at the Old Soldier and Sailors Home. He was wounded in the Civil War and had a small pension. In the 74th PA INF Co B.

Mary was born in Kleinmalowitz, Bohemia.

Could you provide an email address?

Eric

Sorry I missed your message. Usually I am notified of replies. I found your letter when I got notified of another today. My e-mail address is lallencx@color-country.net. Check on down the list. I haven't read them all yet. Good to hear from you. I spent last week in the Family History Center in SLC. I got some answers but realized when I got home that I missed several census records I planned to check. I look foreward to hearing from you again. Claris

Hi. My name is Lea Podany. I am trying to collect my husband's family history because we have a 13 mo. old. My husband's father, Joseph James Podany (Pittsburgh, PA) recently passed away at 50 of a (completely unexpected) heart attack. You have lots of information I'm interested in and I'm not too awfully skilled at GEDcom files. My email address is llondonpodany@yahoo.com. Thanks for any input. Lea Podany

Thanks for your note, only saw it today?
I do not think this John is related to my TRISKA's. Our John and wife (Josephine DIVORAK) were born in Bohemia also but immigrated on 15 Jun 1888 into New York and settled in Pittsburgh, PA. Do not know parents names.
