Hi, My name is Gianfranco Poccia and became interseted in building a family tree for my children. I'm first generation Canadian and my parents are from Italy. My father's name is Eugenio who has two brothers, Antonio, and Ardovicho. Also has three sisters, Fiorenca and I don't remember the others. My grand parents are Ardovicho and Liberatrice. They were located in Casino Italy, between Rome and Naples. Any information you might have would help. If you might have any questions about other Poccia family members, please let me know and I will be glad to help. I do Know that there are a lot in NY.

Mr. Poccia: I hope this helps you. The information I have is patchy, however, I know that after my grandfather's (Joseph Caruso)parents died in Italy, I believe near Minturno Italy which is between Naples and Rome, a Poccia family took in him and his siblings who were young at the time. This would have been back in the late 1800 early 1900. I know that when my grandfather and his brother (Nicandro Caruso) first came to the US they originally settled somewhere in Conn. before moving to Utica, New York. Decendants of the Poccia family that took in my family also currently reside Utica. You may be able to find out more information from Anthony Poccia Sr.

Hi, I'm Giuseppe Poccia and I live in Italy. My Grandfather was Giuseppe (Peppino, he was born in 1905, lived in Sessa Aurunca, near Mondragone in Italy, got married with Maria Teresa Truglio and died in 1972). His brother Emilio and another brother (Antonio?) emigrated to America 70 years ago (I think). Instead the other four brothers lived in Italy. They parents were Paride Poccia (birth date 1883, death date ?) and Angela Politezzi (birth date ?, death date 1940). Now, I would Know if there are my relatives in the U.S.. Thank You Giuseppe

Dear Giuseppe, I'm Carla Poccia. the daughter of Antonio Poccia. Cousin to Gianfranco Poccia. here is a little history of our family: Paride Poccia was grandfather to my father Antonio Poccia, brother to Eugenio Poccia. One of Paride's brothers was Luigi, granfather to myself and Frank. His wife was Liberatrice Razzino (now defunct). Paride would be our great grandfather. The two brothers who emigrated to United States were Emilio and Antonio. These two brothers, one of them never married and never had children, the other had only one son who perished in a car accident in his youth. So we do not have any direct relatives living in NY. but yes some of the Poccias in America are probably indirectly related to us. As for myself, my parents Antonio and Angela Poccia, we emigrated to Canada in l971 until then we lived in a town called Cervaro. By the way our family originated in Sorbello a small village near Sessa Aurunca. I myself visited the village many times as i was growing up in Italy. the rest of the family is now living in Cassino and in Formia. One of the sisters Antonietta Poccia is often in Sorbello but she is living in Cassino. If you want to communicate with me my E-mail is: tocarla@aol.com
