I had a massive computer crash and lost everything I had on AOL. Other things too, but I did have my gedcoms on backup. Since the crash occurred within days of receiving several items from folks, I can't remember who they were. I remember an Adobe format, over 128 pages, which I was about to print when things went down. Therefore, I lost it and cannot remember who sent it. I would appreciate anyone contacting me if you have sent information to me. I want to thank you and also have you resend it. Thank you so much.

I am in hopes that you or someone can help me. I have been looking for my grandmother's family for sometime. Her name was Mary Poage Mitchell, married to a Tipton. She was born April, 1900, she had one brother. I have all information about her and her descendants. Problem is her mother remarried, and no one seems to know what her mother's name is. I assume her mother was a Poage since Poage was her middle name. I noted with great interest that there is a Poage's Mill in Roanoke, and that there was at one time a Poage's Run in the Augusta County region of Virginia. Notes in the County Records speak of a Robert Poage who evidently died around 1800, but lived in Augusta County from about 1749. It also containes a William Poage and James Poage. It speaks of James Poage going to Ohio about 1800 to 1812. So the only one I see after that is William Poage. As I said I have no idea who her mother was. I know she had married W.S.Mitchell, and moved to Illinois. He died in 1900, and she later married G.L.Gressel while in Illinois, and they moved back to Virginia, and raised the children in Wytheville, Virginia. Again, her name was Mary Poage Mitchell, and her brother was Floyd Mitchell. I wonder if somewhere back there, your Poage family and my Poage family may be related.

Hi. I don't have alot of information yet i just inherited a lot from my ggaunt but your family names sound close to mine. I am related to a margaret poage who married james robertson. But my line also ties in extensively with the tipton line. I just recieved a ton of information and am in the process of sifting through it. If you contact me at timnlynn@yahoo.com with your email i would be happy to keep you posted as i find out anything. Lynn.
