Hi:
I'd be grateful for any further information on
Samuel Leonidas Poag and Hannah Harriett
McBride, such as their parents' names,
when they came from Ireland, and
and the names of their children other than
William Barnett Poag (or anything else). William
Barnett Poag was my great-great-great-grandfather
and my great-great grandmother was his daughter
Augusta Ann Poag.

Can you give me any information on Lowrey Poag who was supposed to have married Jane Bowden possibly in Lawrence or Wayne Counties in Tennessee sometime in the mid 1830s? He is mentioned in an autobiography of Jane Bowden's nephew, Rev. John Wesley Bowden. I had thought I had found them in Lawrence Co. Census, but from an article in the Wayne Co. TN history book this person, S. L. Poag married Jane STAGGS and his name is Samuel Leonidas Poag, JR.

Hello,
We have about 12 pages on Augusta Ann Poag family. We got it from the Tate Country Geneoalogical & Historical Society, P.O.Box 974, Senatobia, Mississippi, 38668-1505, USA.
Hope this helps.

Augusta Ann Poag and Nathaniel B. Poag were the 8th and 10th child of William B. Poag. Nathaniel B. Poag was my husband's grandfather.

Augusta Ann Poag was my great-great-grandmother.
We would also be related through Mildred
Blanchard Johnson Poag, her stepmother and
Nathaniel's mother, because Augusta married
Robert Huel Johnson, Mildred's son by her first
marriage to Cordy Johnson. Do you by any
chance have any information on him? I know he
was in Northampton Co. NC in 1840 and died
abt 1845, perhaps in DeSoto Co.

The only info. I have on Cordy Johnson is that he was from Independence, Mississipi, which is in Tate County. Therefore, The Tate County Genealogical & Historical Society may have records on him, census records, marriage records, etc.
