I'm researching the PNACEK family which came to the U.S. from Poland, Austria, Galicia, and settled in Ohio, Illinois and Michigan. The surname PNACEK is often spelled differently. I would like to be in touch with others working on this line to share information. Many thanks, Sandy

Hi, I am also researching my family. I know some info about my immediate family and when my great-grandparents, Romand and Josephine Pnacek, came to the US. We are based in Midland, Michigan.

I've been able to find that Roman was born 7 Aug 1897 in "Poland;" his native language was Slovak, and he arrived in this country in 1914. Josephine, Roman's wife, born ca. 1901 in "Poland," her native language also Polish. Their children (Susana, Stephen, Amiel and Andrew) all born in Michigan. In 1930 Mary KARKOSKA, Josephine's mother, was also living with the family. She was widowed at the time, age 63, also born in "Poland." Roman died in 1968 In the 1930 census, Larkin Township, Midland, Michigan, they are listed as family #167. Hope this helps. Someone has suggested they previously lived and were married in Chicgao, Illinois. Do you have any knowledge of this? Thanks, Sandy
