I'm looking for information, ancestors and descendants of Caspar Plyley (b. 1 Feb 1763 in PA, d. 28 Mar 1849 in Ross Co. OH) He married Margaret Gossard (b. 19 Jun 1776, d/o Phillip Gossard of Switzerland) in 1796. There are many soundex equivalents of the Plyley name, some of them include: Pliley, Playle, Pliler, Plyler, Blyley, and Bleiler.

Thanks,
Amanda Plyley

I believe I have information compiled by my great uncle--Theodore J. Plyley. It includes a lot of information on the Casper Plyley line through 7 generations up to 1952 when my uncle gathered the info. There are a few mistakes but generally I believe it is accurate. When I was a kid, we had family reunions until about the late sixties. They tried to update it as much as possible at those times. If you are interested, just email me. I'll try to do my best in getting it to you. I would also be interested in any information you might have.

Sincerely,
David E. Vaughn

David-

Thanks for your reply. Sorry I've been less than timely. Let's compare notes- I think we've got some good overlapping information. I've had a very hard time finding information on this surname.
My research can be found at the link below. Feel free to e-mail me privately with any responses.

My name is Linda and I am a Pliley. I have been reading the posting of messages here at Ancestry, and have noticed that I can trace my heritage back along the same line as yours. That is through Casper and Henry Plyley of Chambersberg, Pa. I do not know exactly when my side changed the spelling of the name. Do you happen to know the country that the Plyley's came from? I had heard that we were of English origin, but others have said German. The names sound English but........? Any help you could give me would be appreciated. Thanks, Linda
