While searching for information about General Kershaw Plyer I found a will of Elisha Plyler of Lancaster South Carolina on family search.
Perhaps it will be helpful to someone:

This Elisha Plyler had a son Ranson P. Plyler that moved to Ark.,also a daughter Nancy Plyler that never married & lived with her mother after the death of her father.General Kershaw Plyler's mother was a Nancy Jamama Plyler, Daughter of Ranson & Jamama Plyler of Lancaster County [ Wild Cut ] SC. She had a daughter Louisa Jamama, & two sons General Kershaw & R.A. [ Robert A.].R.A. WAS BORN IN 1869 & & SHE MARRIED GEORGE WASHINGTON Courtney in 1870 [ 1900 census married 30 years] & they had my grandfather John Fletcher in 1879 in OLD STORE, CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, SC.In 35\40 years of researching & talking to families I have never found a first husband for Nancy Plyler. My father George J. was born in 1898 & was very fond of his Uncle Kershaw, but wouldn't talk of their family when I would ask about his grandfathers on Grandmaw Plyler's side. He did tell me about Robert [R.A.] GETTING KICKED IN THE HEAD BY A MULE as A CHILD & spending his later years in a mental hospital, buried on the grounds I have been unable to find a census record for George, Nancy or R.A. in 1870 in any state.I feel they were in NC or SC ..Mable Courtney.
