I am greatful that we are having a chance to correspond and share our experiences. Inevitably I plan to build a word picture of our ancestral heritage for future generations.
My wife and I live in Townsville Queensland. We have two young daughters. Recently I retired from the Defence Force as Sergeant on a medical discharge with a crook back. Last Christmas we moved into our new home on our 16 acre property. At the moment it is 0605 am and I am looking out on the house yard. There are chooks, ducks, geese, kangaroos, and kookaburras, all enjoying the start of the wet season. Last night we received two inches of rain. Our fruit and nut trees along with our Timber trees are flourishing after a reasonably short dry period. This is a lifelong dream come true for my wife and I and hope to bring our children up in a sound environment. My Father ( A Structural Engineer by trade. Retired. Though picking up consulting jobs) has moved to Townsville and lives a short distance away, a coowee!, if you like. This is great as we now have time to do some catching up over couple of cold refreshments and fishing rods. Mom is fine. Her work will be taking her to Thursday Island shortly. This may be for a period of 12 months. Thursday Island is off the north-eastern tip of Australia and is essentially an Aboriginal Islander establishment.
Mom has been nursing for as long as I have been around and then some. It is her life. She is a terrific lady who has had her more than fair share of hard knocks but ploughs on. The plans are in the air for mom to move to Townsville in the next year; there-fore, the ground work is being put into place. To say I love her wouldn' be enough. We are hoping to see Mom before before she goes.
Again, I am pleased to hear from you and certainly will be looking forward to the future. Our email is
