Angela,
My husband's grandmother was Sara Pluck Kennedy-- she lived in Mansfield Ohio, the family goes back several generations to a Nickolas Pluck born in 1747 in Germany, died 1827 in Mansfield. If you look at the ss records-- there are Plucks in Pa. Are you part of that family? I'm not sure-- but I think my husband is related to the PA people. You can email me directly at kimcog@cts.com if you'd like to talk more.

Hi,

My name is Christopher Pluck. I'm English, now living with my wife and daughter in Atlanta, GA.
The name Pluck originated from the Normandy area of France. The name is associated with the word "pick". To pick fabric and restore it for use in another garment. The majority of my family lived in small crofts in Essex, England.
These people first came to England following the Norman Conquest, 1066.
We served the rich Norman land owners and settled in the are where their the Normans lived.

Please come back to me concerning your interest.

Regards,

Chris Pluck

Hi Chris,
I read your posting with interest-- my husband's grandmother was Sarah Pluck-- we were told that the Plucks came from Germany originally. She was one of a large family of Plucks in Ohio. I would like to converse more with you on this subject, if you are interested. you can reach me at kimcog@cts.com. Thank you
