Hello Cheryl,
I can't help you with Joseph Plociennik but do you know if Ploskunak is just a diffrent spelling? I married a Ploskunak and I have started a family tree and it is very "lopsided" since I can not seem to find this spelling anywhere.
Thank You, Jamie

It could be a variation of the name. My grandmother was JOZEFA PLOCIENNIK 1883? Poland. She married a Puszcz, had 2 children, divorced came to the states around 1909. She married my grandfather ALFONS POLK. They settled in Indiana.
Anything sound familiar? Cheyl

The Ploskunaka came to the US in at three waves - the last was Sephen and Anna Ploskunak of Iselin Penn. Samuel, the last of 15 (!?) is my father. Andrew Ploskunak was my uncle. The names have been so distorted by the immigration boards and the fact that courthouse in Indiana County, PA burned in the late 20's. I know that Iselin had 3 main families - Marafka, Bene and Ploskunak. Stephen was killed in a coal mining accident about 1924 or 5 - Anna lived until the mid fifties. The odd spelling, the sheer numbers makes it a rough job. Ironically my mother is TURNER, the fifth most popular name and is just as hard to track. There are three other Ploskunaks in Whitefish, Montana. There is a Milan Ploskunak in the Slovak republic who is minister of medicene. He nevers answers! There are Ploskunaks in Ohio passing away in the 1880s.
Very difficult tracking. Write anytime, at least you can spell the name!!

Hi Mark,
I had a email address change and I'm just getting this note. Please let me know if you still have this email address beofre I post anything. It sounds like we are having the same problem and our Ploskunak history is very much alike.
Thank you, Jamie
