My grandparents are Walter Plochocki, he married Viola (Waleria, Valeria) Jawarski. They immigrated here from Poland in the early 1900's. They met in the U.S. and married either in the Detroit area or Mpls. area. They lived in the Minneapolis area. Walter was known to have a brother that remained in Poland. I am looking for anyone that may be a relation or have any information on this family name.

We are looking for help finding some Plochocki background. It was not important to our grandparents so we know very little.

My grandfather was Vincent Plochocki, born 1879 in Krakow. He came to the U.S. late 1890's to early 1900. Probably to the Chicago area because he lived and married in LaSalle, Illinois. He married Anna Wylepski in 1907. He had brothers but do not know where they were at that time.

Vincents father was Joseph or John. His mother we think was Karolina. Vincent and Anna had nine children that lived and died near LaSalle. They were Joseph, Edward, John, Leo, Frank or Dad, Mary, Vincent, Walter and Pearl. My father was the only to move from there to South Haven, Michigan.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated. If I can be of any help, please ask.

Sorry Tom that it has taken me so long to reply. I probably won't be able to give you any information. As I only know the name of my grandfather. I do not know what the names of any brothers or sisters were. I have been told that my grandfather Walter Plochocki was from Krakow but do not know how reliable that information is. I do not have handy his date of birth but I think I can get my hands on it. I was hoping someone could give me some great insight into the family name. I remember seeing some old letters that were written back in the early 1950's by a nephew from Poland to my grandfather spelling the Plochocki name differently but do not know what ever became of those letters or what the spelling was. Unfortunately I do not have any other information that may help you. I am hoping to learn anything that I can on this side of my family but I have very little to start with.

Hi Tom,

I don't know if you are still out there or not, but I do have information on Anna Wylepski's family. We can trace this family back to the mid 1700s in Poland. If you are interested, let me know. I could also use the detail of your grandfather's family if you have it.

Hi Fred,
I hope you are still on this site. My name is Sandi and I am Tom's sister. I just saw your posting here for Anna Wylepski and we are interested in what you might be able to help us with. The other names we know that was with Anna, are Sment, Samolinski, an Dzieciol. You may reach me at memorypreserver2003@yahoo.com. My sister and I have been trying to research the Plochocki lineage for several years, as has Tom. We live in separate towns and is sometimes a challenge to get together. Thank you for your response to Tom and I am so sorry for this lateness. This is a new site for me.
