Hi, again Barbara, You asked if I knew where my grandfather was born and now I know. He was born in Portland, Oregon on Oct. 29,1885( but it says 1884 on headstone??) and he died in Portland,Oregon on May 21, 1946. His father (John and his wife Katherine) came from Russia and had to start on the east coast before going west?. He had a brother named John who was married to a Hannah Barlow, John was born 1874 and died 1927. He also had 2 sisters a Katherine (Gerlack--married name) and a Pauline(Smith--married name) If this rings a bell please send any information Thanks Ella

Hi! Sorry, but the names dates don't tie in with what I got so far. The family name was orinally Blucher (Prussian) it was changed to Blocher, Blocker,Plocher, Plocher and Ploucher. The Blochers show up in Phila. Manheim Pa. about 1810. I'm sure some of them headed west. If I find a connection I'll be glad to let you know.

I have just found a marriage record for Rosie Ploucher to Willie Catron in Multnomah Co., Oregon in 1910. I am wondering if you know anything about her. I believe that she must be related to your family. They are living in Yakima Co., WA on the 1920 census and she is 46 years old. so she must have been born about 1874, unless that is a mistake.
