Pliley in Kansas/Oklahoma
I am a true Pliley. The Plileys in the KS/OK area are not real Pliley, a relative of theirs simply took that name but are in no way blood related to the A.J. Pliley. I am offended by the fact these people would even claim a relation to AJ

Re: Pliley in Kansas/Oklahoma
Sorry but I beg to differ. While you may very well be a "true" Pliley, that does not mean that no one else is. My Pliley line does not connect to AJ so far as I know, but it goes back well before him. My earliest Pliley ancestor is Henry Pliley b.1680 and I can trace directly to my ggrandmother Nancy Pliley who came to Oklahoma.
A.J. wasn't the only Pliley in the world and to state that anyone not directly related to him cannot be a "real" Pliley is both insulting to every other Pliley on the planet and neither good science nor good manners.
There's no need to be offended by anything but people claiming relations to your A.J. that cannot be documented. Being a civil war vet and having much written about him could cause some to gravitate to him and claim linkage that does not exist. I claim no linkage to A.J. Pliley, though it would be an interesting bit of history if I could prove it. That said, my Pliley lineage is just as real and just as "true" as A.J.'s. If you want to compare documentation I would be happy to share.

I am interested in Allison John "A J" Pliley's family. I have most of his history if you are interested, due to researching his time as a frontier scout.

Re: Pliley in Kansas/Oklahoma
Hi Keith, I am very much interested in the Oklahoma branch of the Plileys. I have the family of John and Margaret (Henry) Pliley who moved out to Oklahoma by 1910. They were married in Ford Co., IL, in 1871 and had three children: Rosanna, Albert, and Jesse. I would love to share data. Thanks, Mike Henry
