My g-g-grandfather and a brother came from Germany. John married Mary Alexamder in Ark in 1848. Family hx indicates his brother was killed. I would like to know his brother's name and info on when they came to U.S.

Am researching John H. Placker born 1820 in Germany. His son Lazarus H. born 1855 in Arkansas moved to Polk Co. Texas. Is this your John.

My grandfather, John Bunyan Placker lived in Brady, Texas.
I recall he mentioned that a great grandfather came from Germany with his brother. They were stoways on the ship.
When they settled in Arkansas, the story goes that one of the brothers was killed back in the early 1800s by a man with an ax.

John lived for many years in Brady, Texas.

John married Elizabeth Helms and had eight children.
John had sons Bill, Jake, Joe. He had daughters Ruth and Ruby.

Very interesting. Could this be from the same string of plackers?

My name is Tommy Wright and he was my grandfather.

Did this John from Germany in 1820 come over to Arkansas with his brother? and was the brother's name Lazerous? Did they come from Hanover? I am trying to piece together the history of my grandfather, and I'm wondering if these two merge?

John Placker born about 1820 in Hanover Germany. He settled in Arkansas. He married Mary Alexander about 1848 in Arkansas. She was born about 1826 in Alabama. He died about 1880 and she died before that and I think both died in Arkansas but havent found exact data yet. I have nothing about Johns brother as of yet but he and Mary did have a son named Lazarus Hope Placker born in Arkansas July 27,1854 and died November 6, 1937 and is buried in Camp Ruby Cemetary in Camp Ruby, Tx just outside of Livingston. Lazarus married Quincy Ann Wilson January 9, 1877 and they had multiple children, one of which is my grandfather. Tom Ray Placker born June 28, 1894. Dont know if this helps but if it does and I can help with any more information please dont hesitate to ask.
