I am looking for information on my Grandfather, Frank Placke who lived in Cincinnati and was married to Eva Stout. Frank's father was Herman Placke who came from Germany with his wife Mary Kramer.
Frank's birthdate was November 24, 1887 and he passed away some time after 1956, Frank and his wife Eva Stout had one son, Melvin, my father, who was born July 11,1923 in Cincinnati and passed away in Fayetteville, Arkansas on January 21, 1990.

I would be most grateful for any help anyone can give me!

my grandparents took care of a frank placke until he died in the late 1950's in north little rock,ar. he was born in 1869 in graz. he came to america the first time to escape the draft into bismarcks army. he became a citizen the first time in hamilton county oh in1889 we have the court papers. he returned to germany shortly thereafter and was married in oldenburg or altivasser, we have his wedding pitcure. he and his wife moved to a suburb of hamburg called seitendorf or maybe seitendorf is just the german word for suburb. he had two children at this time richard b 1898, and ida b1899. they all immigrated to usa in approx 1908 aboard the ss von moltke. mr. placke was a house painter and bartender by trade. during the first world war richard was drafted into the us. army and frank placke his father disowned him for fighting against the fatherland. richard died by disease or in battle i don;t know. the plackes had another daughter bornin the usa selma i believe. anyway after richard died the rest of them didn't want to have anything to do with him. he had some rent houses one was in mgnolia st in north little rock that my grandparents rented from him. their last name was ford. when he was too old to take care of himself he promised to give them the house if they would take care of him until he died, which they did. although mr. placke was pro-hitler, instead of returning to germany when hitler came to power, he reapplied for u.s. citizenship which he had lost when he returned to germany in the 1880's. during world war II when he was an old man, he would go out to "stiff's station" in west little rock to meet the soldiers coming from camp robinson who woul switch from the bus to the stretcars to ride dowtown. he would say to the soldiers 'heil hitler". some of the soldiers would find out where he lived take him home and tell my grandmother that they should try and stop him from doing that because some of the soldiers wanted to hurt him, old man or not. when he died he was given the last rites by a priest
