Hi Mary R, sorry to take so long. You might try emailing me directly at marydorris@mindspring.com. Anyway, I haven't had a chance to chat with my mother. I live in Mississippi and I am a federal security officer.

Hi, I am Tracy's 14 year old niece, and I am also trying to research our family history, Manuel Placido was my Great Great Grandfather's name. I have come up with my own little theory about the names, you say his name was Antone, possibly he went by Manuel and named his son(My Great Grandfather) Anthony. Also, my Great Great Grandmother's maiden name was Mello(kinda sounds like Robello, huh?) Perhaps there is some connection only it has gotten mixed up over time. I think my family settled in Oahu(don't think I spelled that right) as well.
Our stories of the immigration sound similar as well. I think that we may be related. Please do not hesitate to contact me. I would really love the information because I will be taking a trip to Hawaii in April and I was hoping to do a little family history project for school along with just exploring the island.

Hello Maya,

My wife has been doing a LOT of research into the family history and has managed to confirm many things at which I was only guessing. It turnsout Manual/Antones real name was Antonio and his wifes maiden name was conformed as Robello.

We don't appear to be related, bu I wish you all the best in your search.

PEACE!
-Paul

Hi,
I don't have anyone in our family with the name of Manuel Placido that was married to a Georgina. Where is your family from? I know that their are Placido's on the East Coast and in Hawaii...our line comes from Hawaii. If you have any further information I would be more than happy to help with what I can. Sorry I can't help more right now.
