just to let you know that there are so many Placentino's in san giovanni rotondo that many are actually not related. My great aunt (placentino) in san giovanni rotondo married a placentino - no relation to her whatsoever.
try talking to someone in italy preferably in the births, marriages office and they'll have records of your family. if you have names it makes is a lot easier.
Good luck with your search. i'll have a talk with my dad to see if we have any relations that went to america. you'll hear from me if i find anything.

Ciao!

Yes Jasmine we are related! Probably like 3rd cousins. We actually met you when you were little at your nonno Berts house. Your grandparents have been here to Adelaide for a visit. Ask them and he will remember my dad Frank :)

Interesting. My father was Michael Placentino. Grandfather was Antonio Placentino. Never met him as I believed he stayed in Italy. Sent my father, Aunt Nancy and Aunt Grace to US. around 1903-05. Met my grandmother several times but called her Nona.
Trying to trace family. Any help

Some more information. My Aunt Grace and Nancy married two brothers named John and Jasper Bisceglia. My father, Michael Placentino would drop me off every summer to spend time with my cousins, Clemmy (sp?) and Clevia. They were twins. They lived in Leomenster Mass. My dad lived in Worcester. I attended his funeral in 1964 and there was a reunion of family.
Please let me know any other info.
By the way I have 2 half brothers Reynold (deceased), Paul, and two sisters, Elaine and Wanda (Collins).

I was trying to research a little bit about the Placentino Family and came across your post. My sister is married to your half brother, Paul. Paul's son was trying to research the Placentino family, too. (I forget whether it is Anthony or Kevin.) Paul and my sister were visiting last September, and Paul and I searched a bit on Ancestry.com. Anyway...just scratched the surface, and started to collect and store files.

Hi
Here's my email: bppdesign@gmail.com
This whole thing is getting interesting.
I have contacted Paul Placentino but I think he is suspicious of my search.
Anyway I would like to pursue contacts for the Placentino Family. I understand from Michael Placentino (Jacksonville Fl... a great nephew... whose father was my half brother, Reynold. He died last year) he was to send me Wanda (Collins), my half sister, a phone number and email. Apparently she is trying to do same as I am, family tree, ancestors in Italy, etc.
I would like to locate family in San Giovanni (Foggia) Italy also. Michael told me (via our only phone conversation) that we in fact, have family in the area and supposed to have a winery and raised 'italian horses?????? around the early 1900's)
We are living near Buffalo NY. Cell 716 597 8947
Please stay in touch via email. And pass on my request to all others.
Thanks
Barry Placentino (Pandiscio now, due to name change when I married...long story)

Hi Victoria.
I'm not sure about any family in Australia.
My Dad's name was Michael Placentino.
The family IS from San Giovanni (Foggia) but trying to track all of this.
My dad was from Leominster/Worcester Massachusetts.
Came over through Ellis Island about 1909.
His sisters were Grace, Nancy and Margherita.
Thanks

Read your post and wondered if you could help.

Seeking information about Joseph Victor Placentino c 1925 San Giovanni Italy.
I have not been able to find any Immigration records when he came to Australia.

Joseph lived in Bairsdale Victoria c1943 occupation Farmer, and married a local girl Daphne Maude Smith. Children of the marriage
Barry, Mary, Jeanette.

Joseph maybe related to Bartolomeo Placentino also of Bairsdale 1943 but no proof.

Joseph known to have lived in Peel Street North Melbourne in 1949, and worked for the PMG (Australia Post) in January 1963.
