I am new to message boards so bear with me. My maternal grandfather was Thomas Pizer. He was born in Stoneboro PA in 1886. His father was Nehemiah Pizer who we believe was born in Wales or England in 1863. Nehemiah had four siblings: Arthur, Lizzie Pizer Foster, Reuben and George. We also know that Nehemiah's father was named Henry Nehemiah Pizer and was born in Wales/England in 1833. Any information on these Pizer's is greatly appreciated and I can fill you in on Tom Pizer.

Kathy,
Have not come across any of your family so far.(My family was mainly from Wiltshire, England and Iowa, USA in the mid 1800's) Do you know if any of them where living in England/Wales in April 1881? If so I might be able to find them in the UK census for that year. A first name and an approximate date of birth should find them.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for responding. I am unsure when this Pizer family emigrated to the USA and I only know the birth year for Nehemiah Pizer, March 6, 1863. I would assume his siblings, Arthur, Reuben, George and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Pizer Foster, would be within + or - 10 years. I also do know that Nehemiah's wife, Ester Luellen Parker Pizer, was born on March 7, 1863. They actually came over on the same boat but I am not sure of the year.
Nehemiah's father, Henry Nehemiah we have listed as being born in England (Wales) in 1833. His wife was Jennie Craig Pizer but we do not know any other information about her.
I appreciate your interest and help.

Pizers in UK in 1881

Kathy,
No luck. There wre about 190 Pizers/Pysers in the 1881 Census for UK. None of them in Wales!
Could not find any Nehemiah, Reuben, Arthur or Ester. None of the other names seemed to fit with your dates.
Only interesting name was Ernest Gerge Parker Pyzer aged 10 months and living in Nottingham with father - Henry Hutchinson Pyzer aged 34, born Nottingham, and mother - Mary Alice Pyzer, aged 31, born Boston. The census does not indicate whether this was Boston, England or Boston, USA.

My guess is that all your family had emigrated prior to 1881.

I just happened on to this site, but I'm really excited by your message.
My maternal great-grandfather is Arthur Pizer born Aug. 22 1870 in Gibsonburg,PA.
His father is Nehemiah Pizer born 1836 in England and was married to Jane Craggs b. 1836 also born in England. I have found their family on several PA census records. Their children include Matthew b.1856 , Nehemiah b. 1863, Thomas b. 1866,(all born in England) Arthur b.1870, Eli b.1875, born in Pa. I think that Nehemiah was born in Nottingham England area and Jane Craggs was from northern England. I have more info if you think that this might be a match you can e-mail me at DODA6@AOL.com

Hi Darrin,
Welcome to the Pizer Message Board. Can you give us any info on what part of the country Thomas William Pizer and Duane Pizer came from?

David,
The only things I know right now is that Thomas William Pizer was born in Butler County 05-26-1886, and that my dad was born in Johnstown, Cambria County, Pa.
Thomas and Alice had a total of 6 children: Isabelle Marquerite (Rohr), Thomas Luther, Geraldine Elizabeth (Shalvis), Rusell Harvey, Robert Milton, and Duane, my dad.

Hope this helps out a litle.
