I don't know if this will help you in any way--the Piwowarski that I knew was named Andrew and was a proffessor at Orchard Lake Seminary in Michigan during his later years. He had married a countess, but I don't know her name. They had one son who changed his name to BREWER and lived in Hammond IN. I believe they came fro a town or village called LIMANOWA in southern Poland.

I am most interested in Andrew Piwowarski and his descendents. I am the great grandaughter of his sister. Before Andrew (aka Andrzej) was a professor at Orchard Lake, he was a lawyer in Indiana Harbor/East Chicago, Indiana. Originally from Skrzydlna, Limanowa (Austria) Poland. He married Olga Bodynska and they had 2 sons, Christopher and Cyprian but I have had no luck in finding them. Most of the family still lives in Lake County, Indiana. Name changing was not uncommon in this family. Would appreciate any information.

Hi I'm the other Deb. I am the greatgranddaughter of Andrew Piwowarski; granddaughter of Cyprain Piwoworski (changed his name to Gordon James Brewster); daughter of Gordon Dale Brewster. I was born Debra Sue Brewster March 28, 1956 in Hammond, Indiana. My parents divorced when I was 9 and never saw my father again. He died in 1992. My grandfather died in 1985. I have six children: Brian David Fanning, Matthew Ray Fanning, Jason Ryan Fanning (killed in a car accident four yrs ago), Corinne Elizabeth (Fanning) Doughan, Sarah Meghan (Fanning) Ortega, and Rebecca Lynn (Fanning) Donahue. I have 7 grandchildren so far! Matthew has Joshua and Jonathan; Corinne has Jackson, Micah, and Anora; Sarah has Isaac; and Rebecca has Cora. I kept my married name when the divorce was final in 1984. What I know about my grandfather is that he worked in the steel mills in Indiana. His residence when I was born was Lansing, Illinois. He was married to Dorothy (Hill). He divorced Dorothy I do believe in the late 60's early 70's. Christopher became Robert Brewster and was a chemist for the steel company. Don't know which one. My father remarried and I have a half sister. I cannot give out her name because of her right to privacy. Documentation is scant at best on my grandfather and his brother. The name changing makes things a bit murky. Back then you could enroll a child in school under a different name even though the child was not adopted by the step parent. My maternal great-grandmother did this with my grandmother. It made getting my grandmother's SSI quite difficult. Olga was deceased by the time I was born. There are pictures of me when I was an infant with the three generations of men: Andrew, Gordon J., and Gordon D. I am the one wearing the dress. ; ) (Sorry, I have a quirky sense of humor!) You are probably scared off by now! I really didn't inherit the secrets gene. I am a very open person and if you want to know about me and my family, I am very glad to share any information.
