Eddie T. Pivovar, 88, of 911 Oak Street, New Castle, Pennsylvania, died the evening of June 20, 2011, in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio. (Mahoning County)
Born September 6, 1922, in New Castle, PA..
Eddie was the son of the late Edward and Anna Lechwar Pivovar.
He was married for 48 years to the former Caroline A. Jurus. She survives.
Mr. Pivovor worked at the former Johnson Bronze Co. for 39 years as a machinist.
He also worked at Martin Marrietta for 8 years in Oak Ridge Tennessee.
Eddie graduated from New Castle High School in 1940.
He attended Youngtown State University and received an Associate Degree in business in 1942. He was a member of the Slovak Club and Polish Falcons.
He enjoyed gardening and Polka music, he would often tape the songs he liked.
Eddie loved the game of golf and once had a hole-in-one.
Mr. Pivovar was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He held the rank of Staff Sargent.
In addition to his wife Caroline, he is survived by a brother, Adam Pivovar of New Castle and a half-brother, John Kotarba and his wife, Rita of New Castle; a sister, Genevieve Temenski of New Castle; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Noga Funeral Home, New Castle, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m..
Burial and Rite of Committal will be in S.S. Phillip & James Cemetery.
The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the cemetery.

NEW CASTLE, PA. – Caroline A. Pivovar, 92, of Golden Hill Nursing Home, passed away the afternoon of April 19, 2014, at Jameson Health System North.
Caroline was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Youngstown, Ohio.
She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Tokash Jurus.
Mrs. Pivovar was married to Eddie T. Pivovar. They were married for 48 wonderful years. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2011.
Caroline was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish.
Mrs. Pivovar worked as a bank auditor in Youngstown for 20 years, and then worked in the office for Erie Insurance as a clerical specialist.
Caroline was a self-employed income tax preparer in Lawrence County for many years.
Mrs. Pivovar will be remembered as a very thoughtful and caring person, she always remembered to send cards for birthdays and anniversaries.
She loved doing crafts and she would make Christmas corsages that she would pass out to everyone at that time of the year.
She was a great baker, and made the fanciest cakes when she would visit.
Caroline was a former member of S.S. Philip and James Church.
Mrs. Pivovar is survived by two brothers-in-law, Adam Pivovar and John and (Rita) Kotarba, both of New Castle and nine nieces and nephews, Andrew Kotarba, Jeffrey Kotarba, Beth Acosta, Lynn Morris, Ron Pivovar, Phillip Pivovar, Janice Moore, Regina Badger, and Lorraine Temenski.
In addition to her parents and husband Eddie, Caroline was preceded in death by her brother, Chester Jurus.

A Blessing Service and Rite of Committal will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
